What is the name of your state? Illinois

If I receive a felony in Illinois which is not expungable, serve my probation time, and move out of state, will pre-employment background checks done in that state show my Illinois records. Are their certain states where it is unlawful to check for out of state records? :confused:

My response:

To answer both your questions, yes and no, in that order. If you want a job, you'll need to move to Malaysia. They have lots of little children for you over there.

It depends on the employer. 7-11 probably won't check ... McDonnell Douglas probably will.

No it is not a sex crime and you are ignorant for assuming so. Actually the only felonies in Illinois that are expungible are some drugs and prostitution charges. Perhaps you beleive that in the U.S it should be as in some arab countries- you get your hand chopped off for being accused of stealing, or maybe shot for having drugs. You are living in your own little bubble of a perfect world. I bet you go to church every Sunday on one hand, and on the other hand beleive everyone who has made a mistake should be shot or put in a concentration camp. I hope the good lord has mercy on your soul.

My response:

And you still haven't told us the crime you committed. A bit embarrassed? You should be. Real people don't make CRIMINAL mistakes - - which aren't "mistakes" at all. They are INTENTIONAL acts. That means you had to think about it and plan it. What a stupid dufus.

Yeah, you keep fooling yourself into believing it was "just a mistake". A "mistake" that got you thrown in prison!

Why? You want oprah then go there. You want an answer, then tough, you get to see how your future will look.

If you do not include your past felony on any application for employment and it is discovered at any time, you can be fired.
And Sorry Carl, but 7-11 DOES check. In fact, they, along with most other convenience store entities, have a contract with Kroll which was recently purchased.

By the way, Illinois is one of the BEST for this :D

The following cases cannot be expunged:

A guilty plea, guilty finding or guilty verdict which results in a sentence other than probation under the Cannabis, Controlled Substances, Steroid Control and Alcohol and Drug Dependency Acts;
Probation (except under the Cannabis, Controlled Substances, Steroid Control and Alcohol and Drug Dependency Acts);
Cases where the defendant was granted supervision for or was convicted of a sexual offense committed against a minor under 18 years of age;
Conditional discharge;
D.U.I. Supervision.

some employers dont do background checks at all and a lot will only check in state. i worked for a company in north carolina that even though they knew i had only been in the area for a week ran their checks in NC alone. also, if you've made changes in your life you always have the option of disclosing your conviction and explaining why it's not going to happen again. there are still three or four reasonable people in the world, it's worth a shot.

Just wondering, do you have any legal experience whatsoever? What gives you the right to be an ******* when somebody went to the correct forum asking for much needed advice?

Thanks for making me laugh!

I guess you're just another criminal looking for that elusive escape from justice, too?

Give help, not flames!

:D Well, I’m pleased to entertain you sir.

I do agree with your premise that there are no “mistakes”. Many people fail to realize that their own choices got them into criminal situations, I take issue with your lack of concern for the questions they ask. If you have no useful advise to offer, then find a chat room and go to town.

If you are in fact what you claim to be, that being somebody qualified to give needed advise, then use a little professional ethics. The world is already full of bad comedians and first year law students with arrogance issues.

By the way “Liable“, you still didn’t answer my question. Nor did you even attempt to obtain any supplemental information from the individual that made the original post.

First of all... you become a senior member with the number of posts (and a little help from some moderator friends im sure)

Secondly...I was just wondering... are you paying him to be humane? OR professional? :confused:

I didnt think so... I kinda like him just the way he is... REAL ;)

My guess is, IAAL takes issue with moronic people who'd like to know for free how to manipulate the good ol' judicial system to make it work for only for their benefit.
Speaking strictly for myself tho, Im waiting for one of those 3AM 30min infomercials that sells all the secrets for 5 easy payments of only $39.95 a month.
(Sure beats a few 100k on lawschool without a guarantee of passing a bar exam)
