My fiance is from Germany. We applied for a fiance visa about 5 months ago because it was our understanding that her visa waiver she comes over on is not changable. So, she went back to Germany and applied for the fiance visa.
Because of answer discrpencies within the INS about our questions I wrote letters documenting all the problems we faced to our senator. He has been more than involved with our case. INS apparently approved the visa about one month ago but never sent us letters of approval or updated their own computer system. The only reason we know that it was approved was because our senator had the power to find out. Just about a week ago my fiance got the approval notice and they gave us more papers to fill out including an I-134 form for me to fill out. We have been fighting this battle for too long. Do we have any legal action we can take to speed up the process? Are there any legal reprocussions for INS when they give wrong or conflicting information(which I've documented with names and dates)? How long can they keep us apart? I live in OREGON.
