ok so if i can't get an attorney im screwed?
why is it just about money?
i don't have the money!!! what do i do!!!
its seems like the judge didn't care what i had to say ..
just what d.s.s wants, and the mothers family wants .she is the abuser not me .this is the third time an incedent has happened over there of abuse.
also the fact the the father of the other child had an incedent of domestic violence with the mother at that home when he lived there was never considered. but my unrelated conviction of a misdemeaner 4 years before the birth of my child is?
its absurd.. also she is now pregnant with another child from a different man .putting another child at risk!!!!

I am truly sorry...but your best option is to find and attorney, one way or the other.

angelasdad.... you may try starting off the new year by contacting your state bar and asking for an updated list of attorneys with available pro bono time. It's not a guarantee, but worth trying.

MANY people FIGHT CPS & WIN but sitting there & whining isn’t going to do you any good. You either do as I suggested or be prepared to lose your child to the system or her abusive mother. There was a PBS documentary in 2003 which showed 4 families affected by the system. Wonderful program, completely unbiased, surprise, surprise! I tried to get them to show it at least one more time but it wasn’t in the budget. I offered to fund it, to buy it even, but apparently they can’t do that. The short story is the ONLY person who got her kids back was the one that learned what her rights were & she enforced them. Piss poor, needing several Chicklets and WITHOUT A LAWYER, this woman was great. They would try to get her to stipulate to different things (note: stipulate means YOU AGREE) but she would just point out that under section 5 page 2 of their own POLICY & PROCEEDURE MANUAL (look up your states on line, now, TONIGHT) what they wanted was NOT required or required a judges order. Do you want to know what you are up against? Let me clue you in. ELEVEN social workers here were indicted for fraudulently obtaining emergency food stamps last year after Hurricane Isabel. Every case but one is a felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $2,500. These are the same people that make decisions every day to take or leave children in homes. Nice huh? There is no reason to be afraid, you just need to be strong & do a lot of work. Learn what motions to file & how to present yourself to the judge. If there wasn’t a custody motion filed by you when you went to court, the judge wasn't going to rule on it.
Do an internet search for CPS abuse, you'll find many people in the same situation.
