What is the name of your state? I am from Conn. I am currently making weekly payments on my Chapter 13 plan that was accepted by the court. My problem is I was laid off from work last Fri. Can I refile for a lower payment and how would I go about do that?

Try and convert to chapter 7, if filing chapter 13 was not related non-exempt assets.

Not if you're not behind on your mortgage payments.

Why did you file CH 13 to start with ??

CH 13 is for people with a regular income. With no income, you cannot pay into the plan. When you default on a plan payment, the Trustee will move to have your case dismissed for non-payment.

I filed to protect my home which was in foreclosure. My wife is still working so we do have some income and unemployment coming in. Problem is I am paying $365.00 a week. I would just like to lower it until I find a new job.
