What is the name of your state? MN

Im going for a job interveiw and found out that the job will check my credit history... SO I decided that I should know what little hidden suprises may be there (or may not) before they do.

I have two collections against me, in the credit report. I have successfully.. or i think... found one of the creditors from a BBB listing. However, I cannot seem to find the other(since it has such a generic name--collection managemen--just type that in a search and you get way too many results) No i have no idea what this account is about, it is true at the time I did run out on some bills,(never do that--you may say was i on drugs--yes). But now im attempting to fix all those problems and start fresh. Im not sure how the job will view these debts. I do have a credit card (always in good standing for the past three years) witch is a plus--but those collections are pretty bad (only about 251 dollars total--but still worse that them NOT being there)

AS A SIDE NOTE: what makes me mad is that one of them I never got any messages about the collection from...(lazy) considering ive been at the same location for several years--and have been paying taxes.

So do i have to hire a lawyer for a piddly 94 dollar account to find the creditor (witch i cant afford to do) or is there other resources to find these people

No, you don't have to hire a lawyer to find the collection agency (CA) that has the account.

Are these credit card accounts or something else ?

When did you last pay the ORIGINAL creditor on these ?

To find who's reporting, dispute the entries with the Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA's), or you could call them and see if they'll give you that info. If you don't know the origination of the debts, dispute them as 'not mine' and see what happens. You could end up with a full deletion.

As for how this will affect your job chances - unless you're going for some kind of financial position, it likely won't be an issue.

These are not credit cards... Im not sure if one is a bank or not (checking account--I told a bank I refused to pay 150 dollars in extortions fees for checks that totalled 50 dollars---that was in 1997)

Im not sure when i lasted payed these... maybe i payed them last around 1997... these are nearing the SOL.. but i really should pay them if i owe them..

Ill try your adivice thanks
