Are TPRs public record? For instance, if I wanted a copy of my nieces mothers TPR, could I just call up and ask for it?

Yes, they are Public Records. You'll have to pay for copying costs, and the mailing fee.

Just one more thing if you don't mind...Do I need the specific document number? Or can they find it by names and dates? (My brother has misplaced his original copy)

My response:

No case number is necessarily required. The files are computerized and the clerk can locate the Order by names.

Your brother needs a lesson in "how to keep records". Unless there's a fire, there's no excuse for losing important court documents.

Is this just for Janey's state? If so, Janey what state are you in? I would like to locate some TPR records also but was told they are sealed.
