I work in Frederick,Maryland. The local union branch that I fall under has become nothing more than a finger of management. I need to talk to the person in charge of FMLA (located in Baltimore, Md., his name is Ralph Vordemberge). He never answers his phone. Is there any advice that anyone has to get through the vicious circle of deception that is spun in these matters? This is the U.S. Postal Service. My wife is chronically ill, and has been for many years. I just don't understand what part of chronic they don't understand. Please help me. Thank youWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

1. For many years it has been impossible to speak to the man, he keeps a phone number but that only takes down messages.
2. The Union paperwork covering FMLA was sent back with the explanation that it was not good enough. Several times, including this last strange time.
3. A Postal Inspector was sent to my doctor, he was bothered without warning. This is a specialist that has every minute booked and the Inspector came in like he was God ,and we are told he tried to get my doctor to say that my husband was a fraud and that I did not need his help. If the doctor did not want to deal with any Postal crap anymore after the harassment . I could have lost my only lifeline.
4. We just sent in the long form with the doctors signature, etc. and we received a paper that says he was denied but gave no reason, written in semi legal over wording that confuses most people.
5. I have a condition, once called a syndrome now upgraded to disease that will only get worse in time called FMS it is an arthritic type problem that takes away your life.
6. These people / that person I don't know , lets just say whoever is in real charge simply make me want to kill myself and make life easier for everyone.
7. Now I am looking for a lawyer, my husband was demoted ( because he supported me) so we have less money and I am unable to work. Yet I still need a lawyer to help protect us.
8. The Union is run by a guy in the back pocket of management, no help at all there.
That is a fraction of what has gone on through the years

How can you have a husband if your wife is chronically ill?

Why are you relying on your union for FMLA leave? Why aren't you doing this through your employer, like you're supposed to?

BTW, none of what you've posted constitutes illegal harassment. If you truly believe your union is at the root of your problems, you should file a complaint with the NLRB.
