Thanks... but if i wanted an "opinion" i woulda asked for that. Im not posting on here asking about the economy or anything. Im asking about a certain situation, not gonna go into detail about more reasons WHY im asking, was just asking.

From what I read since there is no "written" policy that was broken, the employer cant force me to take UNPAID time. All they can do is terminate me or force me to take my vacation time. But if they plan to keep me around they have to pay me for this FORCED time.

(and for those curious, im not quitting, im not getting fired... its basically at this point a heated argument about which one of is right and which ones wrong", regarding the "Legal" argument)

This was in the link to the FLSA regulation I provided earlier. UNPAID suspensions of full days for something like refusing to apologize for some statement would NOT appear to meet this restriction.

If a boss asks you to do something that is NOT illegal, and you refuse to do it, that's insubordination.

Your boss is right. Pull your head out of your...opinion...and apologize.

Before you go much further, might also want to check into an employment attorney who is aware of the local climate.

If it were me, I'd be apologizing. In this economy, getting another job may be difficult.

Next, you'll be here trying to figure out how to get paid the rest of your vacation time.

I see what Patty is getting at and she might be right.

However, whether you have to be paid for this time or not, if you refuse to apologize you can be fired. This is not opinion. This is legal fact. So you might want to consider just what having the last word is worth to you.
