In 1999, at the age if 18, I was involved in a group that made approx. $260 in fake $20 bills in Colorado. I was the only one that was convicted with a felony and since then, it has obviously become a problem with my job searches. I am a college graduate and I have a four year old daughter and I am recently married. I would say that I am a upstanding member of the community. I just want to know what the odds of my recieving a pardon or the equivalent of that are after five years. I know that there is a 10 year waiting period before I can officially request a pardon from the Gov. but is there another way around it? Thank you for any advise.

Explain?

What do you mean by "opening your own treasury"?

Hmm ... the government prints money ... you printed money ...

It was a joke.

But he's right - a pardon is not likely. You are very fortunate that you didn't do some real time! You ARE lucky.

Not lightly taken

I was hoping that the "professionals" responding to messages would act a little more, professional. I'm not looking for quirky humor or smart-assed commets, just polite advise.

I believe that a treasury has more than $260 in it, wouldn't you agree. I don't think that "opening my own treasury" with such a small amout of fake money would take off too far.

Well, the prevailing opinion seems to be that a pardon isn't likely. And I doubt you would be eligible ... if the feds were involved, it's even less likely.

But, nothing prevents you from paying for an attorney and trying it.

Just be sure to provide a cashier's check.
