Google the term FOIA or "Freedom of Information Act" and the applicable agency name that you want to request info from. If it is a local agency, you may have to look for a state, local, or other site to find out the proper format to use in such a request.

But, as has been said, don't count on any response - especially if the investigation was recent or is ongoing.
