Reading the updates on this post, it does sound a little overboard.

However, I guess its the wrongful actions perpetrated
by a stubborn fool against an innocent one without
prior reason(s) is what really counts here.

Whether the OP really did get $10 000 or not, we don't know.
But if he did, (based on how outrageous puts it)
then the remaining 5K should be coughed up - from the neighbor.

Even if the tree is....,, well, not something I'd or many would
plant in their yards.
