i am, excuse me, WAS a manager at a manufacturing company. i was fired due to a complaint from one of my subordinates that claimed I am biased against women in the workplace. these aligateions are completely false. do i have any recourse here? against the company for believing he goofy stories or against her personally?

Against the company, no. They are entitled to believe her.

Against her, only if you have a valid and supportable reason to believe that she knows what she said is false. If it is her belief that you are biased against women, she is entitled to say so, even if she is mistaken.

Yes you have recourse. Brush up your resume, and start pounding the pavement honey. That battleax has decided you no longer work for her and she is under no obliation to keep you on her payroll.

You've provided no evidence whatsoever that her allegation is "goofy." The term "battleax" is a term that is only applied to women. Whoops! I think you just shot yourself in the foot.

And I doubt the company would fire you based on one person's complaint.
