I won and I lost.

In a nutshell. Grampa and stepgma have been unhappy with the amount of time that I alloted to them and therefore they sued. Paternal gma joined the suit in a conspiratory effort to boost their case.

After a 2.5 year court battle.....

In April of 07 a temp order was issued for two overnights per month (approx 42 hours per month). I didn't follow it, was held in contemp and sentenced to 10 days in jail and 3500.00 in fees. I purged the jail time and am now being garnished for the fees.

Stepgramma was dismissed from the suit. Grampa was given 21 hours per month. 4th Sunday for 7 hours. Second Sat for 8 hours and First and third Wed for 3.5 hours. Paternal gma was dismissed w/o prejudice.

Paternal gma actually had a court appointed attorney, so she didn't spend a dime. It most definately cost them more money than me.

You're in NY right ?

It's odd because when My GF's son's GM filed , the Judge told her she had to hire one . She begged the Judge to appoint one , he wouldn't .

And initially , the GM was named in the Father's Petition , and the Judge said they had to be separated .

I've followed your posting here for a long time. I keep thinking everyone lost in this situation, except maybe the lawyers who collected their fees.

I hope things go OK for you now.

Hey, I forgot to ask you in the group...will grandpa even be able to utilize the Wed visits? I thought he worked nights?

Yes, I am in NY. My understanding is that a Court Appointed Attorney for a gp is a county/judges discretion kinda thing around here.

I lost nothing but time and money. My CHILDREN are the ones who lost. Punk is thrilled that he will no longer have to sleep over, but is very disappointed that he has to go at all.

Congrats on your semi win...too bad they were awarded any time at all.

Be careful. "They" were not awarded, gpa was. Stepgma gets to be there if she can behave herself. I am debating with myself on appealing this part of the ruling as there is case law for NY that gps don't have the right to "share" their visitation.

Last year at about this time, he got moved to a permanent first shift.

Congrats from me, too!

We shall focus upon the good aspects. :) ;)

Thank you my dear! This Friday is the "Well, at least it's done for now" Party. You bring the pudding!

Sounds good to me. I'll bring the peach schnapps and orange juice. Perhaps you can convince someone to bring iced tea, if you'd rather substitute.

LOL, I drink both of those drinks, those are my favs! I'm actually hooked on those Smirnov flavored ones too.
