Could you please tell me what it means to be indicted by a grand jury? I am told that when that happens to a defendant the defendant is allowed to walk. I don't fully understand. Could you help? Thanks, Sarah

My brother is in the county jail in North Carolina for breaking and entering, it is a felony charge for him. He said he wants a grand jury indictment, but I am not sure what one is. How would he get one anyway?

Why is it bad news? he says it will get him out till he goes to court and then they have to prove him guilty...
