What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia
Ok so my grandfather died in 1993 with no will and 4 years later my grandmother applied to be the administrator of his estate because there was a house involved. They have 9 children and My grandmother died in 2003 with no will. She had a disease and my aunt took care of her. Everyone was under the impression that the attorney created a trust but in actuality all he did was prepare the paperwork for administrative letters. We're finding all this out currently because one of the sons has put a tenant in the house but the home needs repairs and he is just pocketing the money and not fixing the house nor dividing it among all the heirs.
Everyone wants to be fair about the situation and my aunt did put her life on hold to live with my grandmother, take care of her affairs, and she actually paid off the house. What are the options? Should everyone just appoint her administrator? or what happens to the house since there was no will? Thank you in advance for your help.
