i am in portsmouth ohio. my sister has met a boy that mistreats my neice (so does the mother now). my mother wants her grandparents visitation rights but cannot afford an attorney. my mother filed papers herself on companionship/visitation which was dismissed by the court after the court took her $25.00 paper filing fee. my mother needs to petition the court to be able to use the already existing case number between my sister and my neice's biological father so it will only cost my mother $25.00. she has tried permissive joinder of party but the court dismissed it, too. my mother has raised my neice from birth and needs help. our local legal aid said they could not help her. the childrens service also told her the same. Please help her!! my neice sneaks to call my mom pleading with her to help her. my neice even called 911 to get help when the abuse was happening but they did nothing. please respond. i am sorry for the length, but i tried to keep it short.
