What is the name of your state? Texas
I work for a county hospital district in texas, I am considered an expemt employee and do not get paid overtime, although I clock in and out each day. We received a state grant to teach an outside class that was taught on my days off, additional to my 40 hr work week. The grant funds are depostited to the hospital who then pays grant expenses per check request. The speaking fees are written into the grant. The hospital is saying that the money should be used on other expenses for my work area, but that is not how the grant was written. The hospital is now refusing to pay us as they say we are salaried/exempt employees and this is part of I normal work duties, is this legal?
