What is the name of your state? Delaware

Our daughter passed away and her husband (the children's father) has not been in the picture for nearly six years. My husband and I filed for guardianship. My husband's ex (our daughter's mom)filed at the same time.
Do you know if they grant guardianship to both sets of parents?

Not a clue. However, I am sorry for your loss, and I hope you and the other grandparents can come to some sort of resolution for the child's sake.

Thank-you for your sympathy. We are getting along great. This may seem odd to some but we filed together for guardianship. We want to share responsibilities.

I would check into some Grandparent's Rights orgs. in Delaware. It likely the grandparents with the most established bond would get guardianship (if the father doesn't step up) and the other set given a visitation schedule.
