trying to collect back child support

I am seeking advice that hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My husband has a child from a previous relationship that he is currently paying child support on (has been for 6 years) the mother just requested a review and the review was done and for various reasons the child support decreased. Now the mother is mad and is trying to collect support for the first 2 years of the child's life (the child is 8) the first 2 years they lived together and had hoped to get married and it didn't work out. Can she do this? (oh and we currently live in Florida and the mother and child live in Ohio) I was trying to find the ohio statutes on the internet but came up with nothing can someone help?

No, she can't. That is, if you can prove that you lived together. Did you rent a house/apartment or own a home? If you can get a copy of the lease agreement (if it was an apartment, that should be easy.) then you can present it as evidence that you lived together (assuming both names are on the lease.) This happened to my husband and we provided this proof and they did not charge him child support for the time period they lived together.

I believe here in California, CS can only be collected from when it's filed in court...not since birth...If I'm incorrect, please let me know.
