What is the name of your state? Illinois

I am seeking advise for a friend that doesn't have a computer, I hope someone might have the answer she needs.

Her and her boyfriend are in the process of buying a house, he has been been living apart from his wife for over three years. He is in the process of a divorce. The mortgage company told them they might not be able to get the house because of the divorce proceedings ,even if they can get the soon to be ex wife to sign a waiver.
They already put money down on the home, I know the soon to be ex was given the waiver to sign, and she told them she would think about it.
Does anyone know what other options they might have??

Thanks, I will pass it along to her.
I think my friend is worried the ex will make this a hard divorce and that it will never be final.

I would suggest keeping his name off the title of the home until his divorce is final to protect both of them from the ex.
