What is the name of your state?FL
One of my employees had a student loan debt from 10 years ago. She hasn't made a payment since 1995, and they garnish her yearly tax returns.
They have called the office and have told her they are going to garnish her wages and will not stop calling here.

How can she get them to stop calling my office? (they yell at her and make her cry, quite disruptive)
What should she do? (set up payments, no payments, etc)

The company is NCO.

I am under the impression that since they are education loans she needs to set up payments with the company.
Thanks.

Send a cease + desist (CD) letter to NCO

To stop the calls at work, home, or whereever.........all she needs to do is send them a cease and desist (CD) letter via CRRM:

Here is one that I have used:

Date

Her name
address
NCO
Their address

To whom it concerns:
I am writing in response to your constant and illegal phone calls at my place of employment @ ____________. I have verbally requested that you NOT call me at my place of employment because they prohibit such calls. Verbal request did not appear to be effective, therefore I am sending this written request to you.
Section 805(c) - Ceasing collection calls and communication of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) requires debt collectors to cease calling after being notified in writing.
Therefore, I am asking that you stop calling me at work (phone # here), or at any other location ! Continuous phone calls at work will only jeopardize my job and therefore, jeopardize my ability to make payments to you.
Be advised that my employer is keeping accurate records of all correspondence at my place of employment, including tape recording all phone calls. If you continue harassing me, I will pursue all available legal actions against you.

Sincerely,

Her name

AND YES, call the original creditor (holder) of the student loans and try to make payment arrangements with them (making sure that you get everything in writing before sending them a payment).

WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION ! is the KEY !

MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SEND AND KEEP EVRYTHING YOU GET FROM THEM AND OTHER CREDITORS !

GOOD LUCK ! :)
