I want to be the custodial parent of my son and cetainly don't want to pay any support to my wife. I'm sure she won't agree to this. I've been a great father but my wife and I just can't live under the same roof any more. How can I prove verbal abuse and occasional physical abuse against me from my wife. There has never been any documentation or witnesses to this. I feel that I'm fighting an impossible battle as it seems like no one ever believes the male in situations like this. She has not been physically abusive to our son but has been borderline verbally. Again, no witnesses but me. How can something be proven without witnesses?

It can't. IF you think the child would suffer being with his mother then take him for evaluation to a child psychologist.

But, and this is a big but, you're going to have an uphill battle. Unless you can prove the mother unfit she will most likely gain custody.
