When you receive the check in the mail, and it is indeed the original check and NOT a photocopy, take it to your bank and tell them that you want to file a Late Return Claim because the check was not returned by the issuing bank within the 2 business day deadline.

Keep in mind, however, that your bank will be filing the claim with the other bank, and the funds will be coming from them. It may take a little while since banks don't always play nice together.
