How about a show of hands. Anybody actually believe this loser actually served our country? He would only get my vote if the Armed Forces used telephones instead of M16s.

I love my Job.
Besides, if i was judgemental, i would not be making a great living at my job, as a debt collector.
If you were so willing to pay your bills then you would not be looking to get out of them.
You would be paying them, Right? Right.
Borrow from family and friends is not above your charater is it??
You did it from a perfect stranger the CREDIT CARD COMPANIES and the LOAN COMPANIES?? right? Right.
So why can't you take your 10-50$, that is, what most people offer and pay back your Family and Friends??

Why cause they didn't make the bill right??
Think about it. how long would it take you to pay back a 2000$ debt at 50$ a month?? i will do the math.. 40 months right? right. 3.33 years right? right.
it didn't take you that long to charge up the card or take out the loan.
you all agreed to pay the balance in full when you defaulted on the contract. right? right.
Then why should you not be held to that contract? You agreed to it when you signed the dotted line.

Loser? ok want to know what branch i served in US Air Force for over 6 years.
want to know where i served.
Norton AFB. CA 4 years. SP and Law Enforcement.
Dyess AFB TX 3 years. 63rd MTS
Want to test my Knowledge?? i worked on B-1 bombers. C141's. C130's. C135's. F16's. well lets see can anyone state that they were in the war? and fought for this country?? probably not.

don't worry about me. i don't have to threaten anyone to pay the bill. i tell them the truth and that is enough to either:
1. make them hang up or
2. make them pay the bill.
no threats.
i'm not saying that there is not people out there that break the law. i know that i've worked with them. me personally i don't do it.

So before you decide to group every debt collector in to the same group. you might want to listen first then decide.

maybe that is too hard. to listen to the mistakes you made in life.

i've learned, that you reap what you sow.

want to bash me go ahead i'm more of a man to take it and keep coming back then to run away and hide. unlike some people that can't take it.

a WINNER always stands back up, even if he is knocked down, and doesn't give up.

how many people can say the same thing that they are doing the right thing?

besides. i don't need medical insurance and i've got a nice savings built up. how many of you can say the same thing?
i've been working with the same place of over 3 years now. you add it up. 300$ a month for 36 months minus 1000$ this year. Plus i'm a US Vet. so i get free medical from the goverment.
Why save money for the hospital bills then if you dont have any? last time I checked this site was for legal advice, not advice on how to "morally" be a butthole!

Well lets put it this way. I went to war for this country against my believes that we should have stayed out of it.
I have benifits. i choose not to take them. that is the reason. besides. you all are tring to find ways not to pay the bill. i pay my bills. inculding my medical bills. when there is a need. can you say the same??
Before you cast shadows on someone look in the mirror.
So the goverment has to foot the bill for my medical the last time i went to a veteran hospital was in 1996.
Last time i saw a private doctor was this year. and i PAID for it. CASH. not credit not a loan CASH.
You are all just mad, that you don't have the CASH to by things you want when you want them.
BASH AWAY. I'm up for it.
It seems to me that you just want everyone to know you have money....well honey why dont you use that money to buy a personality, or perhaps a life

Mr. Knight-

Perhaps if you could write in coherent sentences with the correct spelling and grammar I would take your ranting seriously. However, due to the fact that you either a) can't type worth crap, or b) are just uneducated and stuck in a frustrating, dead-end job, I have no choice but to laugh at your claims and so-called information.

It is ridiculous for you to lump all people who have defaulted on loans into one category as "deadbeats" who are just trying to get out of paying what they owe. I won't deny that there are people like that, but not all of us seeking help on this board are that way. I am more than willing to pay off my debt, if given fair terms. To suggest that I should beg and borrow the money from friends or family is absurd if I am willing to make payments. If treated with respect and a willingness to work with me, I would be much more receptive to speaking with the CA and figuring out a way to satisfy my debt as quickly as possible. However, with someone as judgemental as yourself working on the other end of the phone, I am much less willing to be cooperative, even with having the financial means in which to satisfy my debt.

You sound quite bitter and unhappy. Maybe you should look for a new line of work. Something with less stress. How about a greeter at Walmart? ;)
Mr Knight,
I must say I was rather fond of all your rebuttles, quite entertaining. Wait, I think I know you, did you call me yesterday? Stop harrassing me,I'll give you ten dollars a month till its paid of, Please Mr. collection man I dont know what to do, please continue to enlighten me with your ignorance!

not a problem.
you want enlightenment? seek God. read the bible. there is great lessons to be learned in there. About 'do unto others as you would have done unto you.'
then there is, 'Owe no man.'
Then my favor. the Ten commandments. a good one depending on religion. #7 or 8 Thou shall not steal.
Read it some time. you might be able to understand, and gain a little enlightenment.
As for money. well it is just a thing. i've lived without money. Been where most of the debtors have been.
I know that it is hard, but i never once try not to get out of paying my bills, or resolving my debts. I've been on the other side of collection calls. I know, whether you want to bash me for my choice in life?
By all means enjoy. have fun. Get your frustrations out on me. Then when the next collect call comes. Instead of hanging up or screening the call. Resolve it. There is always a solution to every problem. You just have to be willing to look for it and listen.
Winners never quit, and Quitters never win.

this is a legal forum not religious, but since you brought It up I do know a thing or two about it. I think you should do your research cause somewhere in there is a little statement that says judge not lest ye be judged yourself, you are judging all debtors, so please dont open that can of worms, unless you can put the lid back on. If you have been on both sides of the fence then you at one time were a "debtor" and since you yourself catagorized them as deadbeats, then hmmmm, i assume you are now a REFORMED deadbeat? Sweep behind your own back porch before you sweep someone else's. You assume I owe debt, you know what they say when you assume. Guess what I own no credit cards and I live according to my means, but what business is it of yours anyway if I were a debtor, Mr Christianity, You are a debtor to, I think you owe someone for the price of your sins, Wanna pay that back in payments or should he expect it paid in full?

I will answer in full for all my sins.
But you are right. This is a help site for people that are not educated in the law and want to know there Rights, as a consumer.
Also on the other hand Creditors have rights too.
I'm only defending my Stand on that.
As for what is on my back porch. Yes i'm a debtor too i owe My mortgage company, and my Credit cards, but the point i'm making is i make my payments and do not try to get out of paying my bills.
I know enough from working in an atty's office to know i could get out of all my bills, and not pay a dime to them. Inculding my House, but i'm not like that. I was not raised to look for the easy way out.
That is all i'm saying.

Oh man,

My head is spinning from reading this thread! Mr. Knight, I was convinced you were my ahole estranged brother in the beginning. I found too many instances I wanted to quote you and rebut you. Then you freaking go the opposite way and actualy manage to make a point without insulting too many. I appreciate your zeal for your job but you really shouldn't lump ALL non payers in the same category. How bout them cc companies that market to 18 yo college kids? Aren't they taking advantage of their naivete (sp)? I think that they are as despicable as those who try to defraud cc cos.

On the other hand, I own my own biz and have had to occasionally use a collection agency to collect large past due sums from people who had received our product and services but for some righteous reason felt they didn't have to pay. There are however, two sides to every story and it behooves you to listen first, judge second.

PS-I'm one of those people who piss off cc cos by paying my balance in full every month, so thankfully, I'll not be crossing your path. :D

I never agreed or disagreed with your opinion, I believe we should all be responsible for our debts, but assuming everyone is trying to get out of them is exactly that, assuming. As far as you knowing enough to get out of it, do you want a medal? or a chest to pin it on? I noticed your tone changed greatly, I have a feeling I put Mr. Knight in his preverbial place
