As for credit card companies that give out credit to 18 years olds. Well first off they are consenting adults. According to the Law.
They make the decision to run up the card not the credit card companies.
One point that needs to be made is. Who taught them responisblity? If you make a contract you have to abide by it.
===
I want nothing but to state that the plain honest truth. People try to get out of there debts.
Everyone states that they are being harrassed by collection calls?
I will defend my clients and there rights to the end. If that means pissing off a few people way then so be it.
Responsiblity, be responible for your actions and admit a mistake, when you make it.

how long would it take you to pay back a 2000$ debt at 50$ a month?? i will do the math.. 40 months right? right. 3.33 years right? right.

WRONG !!!!! Your flawed math, like your horrible grammar and spelling, is sooo typical of the high school drop-outs that populate collection agencies. Its also typical of the lies they all tell !

There is NO straight calculation, pal, you conveniently FORGOT to add in the INTEREST that is charged ON TOP of that $2000 and then all the fees and penalties they like to add too. So when you get right down to it, its not $2000 paid off in 40 months, its a LOT longer because at the horrendous default interest rates, some as high as 30%, the debt grows and grows and $50 a month will NEVER pay it off. A $2500 credit card debt at 24% interest (and thats the LOW end) paying minimum payments would take you THIRTY (30) YEARS to pay off !!!

This is a LEGAL ADVICE forum, and people come here when their rights are being trampled and ripped to shreds by collection agencies. They come to find out what rights they DO have to fight very BAD collectors.

The bottom line - there is NO MORALITY when it comes to money, its purely business, just ask any credit card company !!!

Maybe YOU should take that McDonald's job you think is so great and when you make manager in 10 years, you can use that money to LEARN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE !!!

You may want to review your first paragraph. Within its context, it's actually pretty funny.

First off assuming that there is intrest and penalties being applied. After Charge off.
If you can't handled the Intrest rate then don't get the card. Plain and simple.
If you don't have the money to pay for it don't use it.
Goes to that word again Responsiblity.
Good word for the Month, Responsiblity.
High School dropout? hmm if i remember right Tn has the worst drop out rate in the country. Oh wait Al Gore is from Tn. i'm sorry that makes it all better.

I agreed with your initial post, however this is not the forum that you want or need to express your opinion.

You started this, and it has become rather funny watching your grammar.

What 18 yr. old has credit? Why are they "GIVING" them credit cards? I read your post this morning and (Agree), but now I think you are just having a bad day on the phone. Face it, a 30 yr old can not get a credit card with terrible credit, yet a kid of 18 get's bombarded with them, with no credit history.

The best way to establish credit as a young person is your parents putting you as a co signer, making you responsible for that first car loan, and teaching you about the card's that will come in the mail, and how "NOT" to accept them.

Assuming ?? Oh puuhhleeeeeeeease ! There isn't one single CC agreement out there or collection agency or debt buyer that does NOT stack on horrendous interest charges AFTER charge-off.

As for insulting TN, I'm not FROM TN at all, I just reside here. I was born and raised in NY :D You're still an illiterate with a very spare command of the English language, spelling and grammar.

I'll give you one small point - Al Gore is a MORON and an embarrasement to the state !! On the other hand, I'd have to question your assertion about the drop-out rate, sounds like another stereotypical slur.

Your answers are ridiculously simplistic and your brainwashing is obvious.

Mr Knight: You certainly are not a good example for applying your Armed Forces training. You mean you spent six years in the Air Force and the best you can be is a low life debt collector? Seems to me,you didn't apply yourself very well. You also should have paid more attention in English class, because your grammar is that of an elementary school student.
Please report back to this forum, if or when you experience a life setback such as a divorce, child support, layoff or loss of job, and let us all know how well you manage your accounts. Most people seeking advice on this forum are looking for answers to their credit troubles and want to repay their debts. The terroristic tactics of bottom feeding debt collectors only make matters worse.

Oh, please. Look, the guy may be somewhat of a pontificating petunia, but "terroristic tactics?" That's like saying every guy in Iraq is eager to carve off some hostage's head like your Christmas turkey. Besides, the plain fact of the matter is the vast majority of people seeking advice on online forums indeed ARE greasy weasels. Perhaps not in this specific forum, per se, but I've spent some very boring weekends browsing the truly unbelievable posts to be found on numerous online forums like this one. Trust me, the lowlife greasy ferret-faces FAR outnumber the poor situational saps.

Leave him alone

Ok everybody, please leave Mr Knight alone. He is a Veteran of the Armed Forces, He served our Country, He now has the right to do whatever he pleases. He has free healthcare, A Mortgage, A wife, Two beautiful children, and a Dead Mom and Pop. Everybody should know that oneday he may never have to pay 600,000 dollars in medical expenses, or even less. We now know he will go to his grave before he defaults on any bills should they ever happen. And because he as a Churchgoing, God-Fearing fella, And knows the ten Commandments by heart, he will always be protected from an type of catastophic event. He is a real man, god forbid one of his children would get run over by a car while riding her/his bicyle-he can take these kiddos to the VA-Where they can recieve the finest healthcare in the world. (So many documented mistakes by the forces healthcare) But you know he may want to transfer them to a specialty hospital (where most likely his VA-Insurance will not apply or apply only to a certain amount). He is a man of honor and stands by his job. So why don't we all (today ok) go to McDonalds and go get a job. (120k/yr) and just leave the poor (oops sorry "great") guy alone. Every body has their own little world to live in and just because he is a bill collector doesn't mean he is a bad guy it just means he is the perfect person when it comes to handling his debts (Mortgage and such). All people eat their words at some time or another (some sooner than others). So lets hope he keeps his family safe and he never has to face any catastrophic event.
