What is the name of your state?AL
I've recently seen a doctor that I have seen on and off for years. He 'implied' during the last visit that he was going to call and speak with another physician of mine. I might add that the two have NOTHING to do with one another, regarding the health issues or prescribing for either. There are no dangerous overlaps whatsoever.
Since I have confided confidential information to doc #1 but did not want to go into it with doc#2 (it was none of either of their business really). Does Doctor #1 have the RIGHT according to the HIPPA laws to call and speak with Doc #2 WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?
I believe that this was done since for the first time Doctor #2's office called and said to come into the office 'he would like to speak to me'.
Finally I believe that this is allowed there IS NO SUCH THING AS PATIENT-DOCTOR CONFIDENTIALITY! (This had nothing to do with the old adage of a patient hurting themselves or others)
Please advise
