Holiday week unpaid on salary?

What is the name of your state?I am employed by a California company but work remotely from Georgia. I am a salaried employee. My employer has decided to close the office between the week of Christmas and New Years in order to save money on operating costs and salaries. In order to be paid for that week we must use our vacation time. As a salaried employee, my wage was determined on an annual basis. By not having that week of pay, I do not reach the specified annual salary. Is it legal for them to do this?

That's irrelevant unless you are working under a bonafide employment contract which guarantees you a specific dollar amount for the year. Your salary simply being expressed on an annual basis is not a guarantee you will receive that amount.

If your employer wishes to mandate that employees use vacation time and pay for any periods they are closed down, they may.

I'm afraid I don't understand where you're coming from on #3. Why doesn't your vacation pay count? Surely you were not guaranteed a specific annual wage IN ADDITION to vacation pay. Besides, unless you have a bona fide contract (not an offer letter, a CONTRACT) that specifies that your W-2 income will not fall below xx amount, it doesn't matter - it's still legal.
