Hello- I currently live in the state of Virginia but approximately two years ago my daughter was adopted in the state of Kansas and the adoption was finalized in Kansas since I was a Kansas resident. Well in the adoption paperwork there is an agreement that states I am to get pictures of my daughter well I have never received any at all. I have written to the agency the adoption was through and I have been told that the adoptive parents have chosen not to send pictures because I tried to change my mind about the adoption, well I was made to let it stand because I was told that I signed a contract with the agency and to my way of thinking if I had a contract with the agency that I am made to uphold then shouldn't I be receiving my pictures since they are part of the contract? I need someone's help please as I want pictures of my baby so very badly.

The agreement about pictures

Hi-
The papers I signed stipulated that I would receive pictures every 6 months for the first 5 years and then pictures once a year till my daughter turned 18. I hope this answers your question and that you may have some advice for me.

I beleive that if indeed this is stated in the adoption decree you can take them (adoptive parents) to court for not fulfilling their end of the agreement. They will probably get a slap on the hand and be told to start sending the pictures.

Send them a certified letter stating your intentions on retaining an attorney to enforce your right to the pictures. Let them know that they have 30 days from the date of the letter to either

1. Send you some pictures

2. Get prepared for court

This may get them to start obeying the order.

Good luck!
