I NEED desperately to come up with a lump sum of cash. We always qualify for the EIC credit and add'l tax credit. We get several thousand back each year. I need about one third of that now, based on next years taxes, which are not expected to change. If anything, our income will be less for 05. I'm hoping the IRS can do some kind of 'loan' on our expected return for next year. Does anyone have any answers?

The IRS doesn't do that.

You can get "advance EIC" through your paycheck, but it isn't a lump sum, it is given to you paycheck by paycheck, a little at a time, and can be a very small amount.
