How do we find the NCP?

What is the name of your state? IN

My husband is the CP of his now 17 yo son. He was awarded sole custody in August of 1988 and mom was ordered to pay $25/wk (she has never paid the first penny). This makes her approximately $18,000 behind in support. How can we find her to make her start paying on the arrearage? We don't have any information on her except for what her last names used to be. Any advice is appreciated.

Do some research...

Do you have any address that she used to reside at? Do you know any of her relatives or close friends? This is a large span of time to be tracking someone through.. When did she "disappear".. Have you gone through CSE at all?

Tracking her down might take awhile and I am just curious as to why it is taking 17 years for you to decide to do this? Has your situation changed so as to make $18,000 more appealing to seek.. I just don't understand why it is that you waited so long if its really that important...

The 17 yo will be going to college next fall and we could use the back support to pay for his fist year and a half.

The time in between is due to the mother disappearing the month following the custody decision. She was living in a car parked in an alley at the time. She was given specific steps to follow to even be allowed to see her son via supervised visitation. My husband has tried on numerous occasions to find her, but no luck. She had no family living when my husband married her in 1984, therefore, no family now either.

I also have a 17 yo and a 14 yo old from my first marriage. So, as you can see, having to pay for 2 college students does cause a drastic change in circumstances.
