Iowa, My wifes ex repeatedly take their son on days that aren't his and we have to involve the police to get him back, but sometimes he takes him out of town or even out of state and the police never charge him and the courts won't listen to us, he claimed at a contempt hearing that it was a misunderstanding but then he did it again a couple of months later.

yes but the child is 13 and when he leaves school grounds he is no longer their responsibility and his dad waits for him by the curb and yells for him when he comes outside, the child is afraid to tell his father no.

Any ideas would be great to here we have tried everything we can think of and tried 3 differant attorneys who all think we should take the high road. But when we do that it screws up any plans we try to make as a family and I don't want this child to start feeling alienated from the rest of the children.

we tried that and the father intimadated the person to the point the were afraid. He doesn't threaten but he says things like you think your big enough to stop me from taking my son, or are you telling me that your going to try to keep my son from me. so we worry about subjecting anyone else to this guys crazy behavior.

How does your son normally get home? If he rides the bus you could ask a school official to escort him to the bus. There has to be some way to avoid him being in the area where his father can get away with that. Or, in the alternative see if there is some way that the school can allow his "ride" to pick him up at a different door..maybe somewhere in the back of the school.
