How would one go about changing the monthly payments if the father's job is not bringing any profit?

thank you.

Father claims he is making $1,500 a month and can prove it with his paystubs. What is the legal procedure he needs to follow and can he get his monthly obligation lowered?

If you are the party receiving CS from him you can agree to a lower amount and take it to court to have it changed. However I highly recommend you DON'T do that. If you feel he can not pay the amount ordered and want to help him, cash the check and return some of it to him. Once it's changed through the courts and his income goes back up, you might have a fight on your hands to get it raised back to the correct amount again. I'm only guessing because you are giving little to no information about the situation.

Only a court order can change a court order. He would have to file for a modification of child support and hope they don't INCREASE it.
