I am an international graduate student, living with my wife in NY, who is on dependent visa. We got in contact with a NJ based firm who informed us that they have some suitable positions available for my wife and they can apply for H1B visa through lottery system. The firm took $ 5,000 as a security deposit, and made a contract signed by both sides stating that we will get our full security deposit back in case my wife's H1B application would not be picked up. It's been more than a year since they let us know that her application was rejected. According to the contract, we were suppose to get the full refund within 3-4 months after the rejection. However, we have not received anything yet. We wrote plenty of emails, made numerous phone calls - once every week, but the guy handling our case keeps making some excuses to delay the refund process. We have already sent them 2 demand letters so far. I am almost out of patience now.
