What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ky
I think I might be the product of my father raping my half sister. My family is so secretive about everything and frequently dishonest about our history. Is there a way to know if there is a sealed record somewhere about me? I can't get past my gut feeling on this and I am want the final answers, but without family cooperation, I don't know how. any thoughts?

How old are you?

Without cooperation from some family members (in particular your purported mother and half-sister for dna testing) it would probably be very difficult for you to obtain proof of your parentage. Even that testing might not be definitive if your half-sister is your mother's daughter (and this assumption on my part may be wrong, as I am no scientist).

It could still be sorted out. However, the certainty would go down significantly in that case.

Unless there's cooperation from relevant family members... I doubt you'll ever really know. I'm sorry.

Maybe you should do a DNA test? Get some hair or a toothbrush or something from the other person, that would probably be the best way if you didn't have your family's cooperation.

Please don't guess...it makes you look foolish.

You need to contact a DNA testing lab. They can discriminate parental DNA, however, you need to discuss the particulars of your needs with them. Obtaining samples should not be a problem for you.

Who are your legal parents? Have you asked them about how you might find your bioparents in case of the need for medical information? Obviously, if your half sister was also your mom, she'd know it, so your mom must be an adoptive mom or you wouldn't be asking.

Sometimes adoptive parents aren't being "secretive", they simply don't have the information their child is requesting. For example, my daughter asks about her bioparents and we simply cannot tell her anything because we had access to virtually NO information. Sometimes it's hard for children to accept that we simply cannot answer their questions.

Although i'll admit i have not read KY statues, it is generally accepted however that records on Yourself cant be locked from Yourself.
If you know where you were born, perhaps a hospital, you can try to obtain records through them. The easiest way is just to go to the office of Vital Statistics where you live (with a vaild form of identification) and request copies of your birth certificate. If your a minor you might have to wait until your 18 to do all of this.

If your family was excessivly secretive and your half-sister had you at home and your "mother" took you down to the health department to register you as her own then you'll have to get DNA testing. But PLEASE go about that legally!!!!
But if your an adult and feel safe enough to do so perhaps you should just try to get the information from your half-sister. She may lie, she may not. But at least you can gauge her response and act accordingly.....

Go to social services and ask them for a CP report that was filed against you.

There are levels of information....Certain types of information acannot be released to the subject of the information.

So, no it is not gererally accepted.
