Hi,
Seems like blondie is still on the run. Sounds like a nightmare. The evacuation alone would drive one crazy. The Fla peninsula is so long to drive and the whole state is vulnerable. There's a tropical storm south of the Cape Verde Islands that bares watching also. Hope all out there have battened down the hatches .

They expect this to be worse than Charly and and many shelters and other accommodations are still full with Charley victims. I just heard on the news that they have closed the bridges to the barrier islands telling the residents who stayed to put their id's in their pockets so they can id their bodies. It is heading for Palm beach county very slowly 8 mph making it a bigger risk for damage. YOu were lucky there in the US VI,
I have not heard from Blondie since yesterday morning but it may have taken a while to get to the west coast the highways were packed and gas stations were running out of gas. They are telling people to get at least 10 miles inland to be safe from tidal surges.

Lucky so far. LL got up on the roof to repair, comes unexpected rain in the night and it leaked! So now there's a tarp up there and he says he'll get a contractor to fix the whole thing. It's difficult to remain calm when one has been begging for mos. for this work to be done. They simply do not want to spend any money on this property and would dearly love to sell the whole thing which is considerable. I can certainly understand the rights of property owners. But at this stage in my life I refuse to let them disrupt what's left of my life for their own convenience and the sake of dividing up money. Ivan is expected to pass through the Windwards Tues. and will effect all the way up the chain to us. Years back I would have voted with my feet . That's not so easy now. Any way c'est la vie,c'est la gare! .............. Good news is it could be worse as in Fla.
Was looking at some of the local radars in Fla. It's gonna rain all across the state.Blondie probably had a problem finding shelter.I sure wouldn't want to be on the highway with everyone under stress .Think I'll go check out the VI Code for the h.- of it. Thanks again L

Blondie is staying with relatives and arrived safely the other day, she doesn't have good access to the net she had to go to a florist shop the other day when she arrived to post her message. Frances is down to a 2 but they expect lots of water at least 20 inches and more wide spread damage than Charley, hopefully the other Florida members will check in from time to time to let us know they are safe. Hang in there with your roof, I lost a portion of my roof to a tornado in California of all places and was under a tarp for the holidays, so things could be worse. ;)

i I regret that I haven't written to memorialize all my requests for roof repairs. Ivan will effect us here on Tues. and I doubt the tarp will help. Found what I think is the appropriate agency to deal with fit for habitation standards in the VICode.
