What is the name of your state? California

I need to find Statute of Limitations on reporting sexual abuse on a minor. I reported it before but it was never added to his record. I need to report it again, so his case will be broadcast on TV and other victims will come forward. 1. He will get a longer sentence, and 2. Those victims will get the much needed counseling to help them cope.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this is what you are looking for.

Limitation: Prosecution for rape must be commenced within four years of it being committed.

I am sorry I should have made myself more clear. This guy is my daughters biological father and he molested her at 2yrs old. She is almost 13 now and I discovered he is in Utah State prison recently for sodomy on a child. My friend call the detective on the case and the detective said that there is no where on his record that my complaint was ever called in. Hense, no file on his record on this.

I left him before I found out. She told me. She is a very bright child. He has not seen her since May of 1994.

So I need to know the Statute of Limitations on Child Molestation to try to get justice for my daughter.

Thank you.

Did you report this when it happened? Was there evidence?
DNA evidence? The delayed witness of a 2yo is not going to hold up in court without physicial DNA evidence.

Yes I did. I even took her to the hospital. But they said her hymen was in tact so there is per se no evidence. She walked up to a stranger to her, not my mom(this other guy was my mom's friend) and unzipped his fly. I did NOT teach her that. I also walked in on him after he got done masterbating with her in the room. I was pregnant with our twins and had just woken up from a nap. I confronted him on it and he said I was a sick woman. She still remembers some of it.

She has a lot of anger built up. She has been in counseling. She is going back this month.

The police said they wouldn't put a 2 yr old on the stand. He also molested my friends little girl, and who knows how many others.

And yes, I don't know what I was I was thinking getting involved with him, but I was just a kid myself.
