We are very pleased to provide focused discussions and educational resources for landlords and tenants in the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago. In 1986, the City of Chicago adopted an Ordinance that covers many of the relationships between landlords and tenants.
Called the Chicago Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance, the City of Chicago adopted this ordinance to "level the playing field" between the rights of landlords and the then few rights of tenants. The ordinance has often been called the "Tenants' Bill of Rights."
These discussions are not intended to be legal advice and further, are not intended to forge lawyer/client relationships.
These discussions ARE intended to educate landlords and tenants as to their rights and obligations as landlords and tenants and to, hopefully, assist landlords and tenants to work together to improve and enhance the quality of housing in Chicago and Illinois and to help prevent disputes from going to Court.
