What is the name of your state: Arizona. Hello, My ex friend was assaulted by her boyfriend and I had to physically remove him from her, in the process I was hit by him and was a victim/witness. She told me to stay out of her life and not to contact or come near her. She still want's me to testify for her after she told me she will file harassment on me for no reason. I was never issued a court order/summon to attend to this, and from what she said is that she talked to her attorney and her attorney said I have to be there and testify or I go to jail. Now I live in Arizona so I'm not sure what the law is. I feel I should not be made to go also because of my religion is against it, I do not judge the fate of someone else, only god himself can. I don't want to be a part of this what so ever. Help?

You are not there to judge. You will be there to testify. God will judge according to his master plan.

That being said, you are not required to appear as a witness unless you are summoned or subpoenaed. And if you are subpoenaed to appear, you will be required to do so, regardless of whether or not you want to - and may be subject to contempt of court for failure to do so.

Last, but not least, you are NOT being asked to judge the boyfriend. You are being asked to testify to what you saw and what you experienced. The judge and jury, and ultimately your God, will be the ones to judge what happens to him from there.

I'm a bit confused. Why is this person an ex-friend? Why would she tell you to stay out of her life after the incident? And why would she be threatening harassment charges against you? Would it be safe to assume that she has chosen to remain with the abusive boyfriend and you don't agree with her choices?

well after that happened to her, she started calling in with false accusations, she even called in on my fiance while he was at work and got him arrested, saying he went to her house and beat her. I live across the street from her and he was at work the time she said it happened. she beat herself up . she wanted to call in on me because i asked her why she did it.

Bottom line: If you are supboenaed then you must testify. If not, then forget about this person.
