What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OR
My 18 year son applied for a bank card and was sent a denial based on delinquent accounts. When he looked at the file it said that he had a qwest bill that was opened in 1/10. He does not nor ever has had an account with Qwest. He disputed it and the response came back that it was updated and would be removed in 2012. That leads me to believe that the bill is from the year 2005 (7 years) at which time he was 13. He disputed it again and we are awaiting the outcome. The bill is 160.00. He is in college and does have, just since sept, some student loans that are in the deferment period. It appears that this incorrect entry is really hurting his brand new credit file. Should we just pay it or will it then look like it was his? and if we did would it come completely off? any advice would be appreciated. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
