What is the name of your state? Indiana

7.1-5-5-7 Does not explicitly mention a crime as "illegal consumption" but it does state that a minor is not allowed to knowingly consume an alcoholic beverage. The adult laws state specific ranges, e.g .02-.08 etc. Are there similar guidelines for a minor or is it zero tolerance? That wouldn't make sense because many products contain alcohol outside of excise regulation.

consuming alcohol is an either / or proposition. All the police would have to prove is that alcohol was consumed, not the amount.

You are confusing consumption with the legal level for intoxication. They are NOT the same thing.

What Breeze said.

If a minor shows up on the scale, you will be punished for possessing the alcohol, regardless of exactly where it is at.
