Attorney said do not contact her again. Am I in a legal position to ask for my records from her? (she lied about having records from plaintiff)

Since there was no written legal agreement, if she brought a lawsuit against me, would it be in my state? (even tho I hired her for a case in her state).

You said your lawyer is in Illinois. In what state do you reside, sirsanta?

The agreement with your attorney needed to be in writing. The fact that it wasn't is problematic in many ways.

I suggest you sit down with an attorney in your state for a personal review of all of the facts of your rather odd arrangement with the lawyer. Or, if you feel the need, you can contact the Illinois State Bar (see the links I provided earlier) and have them investigate your complaint against the lawyer.

I don't really see how a forum can help you untangle the complicated mess you have described.
