What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I just received 10 claims from my husband's child doctor visits. The mother never told us of these visits...what can we do...we never gave her a copy of the insurance card nor do we know the child's doctor's information...what can we do legally? The mother already has medicaid.

I am sure mom didn't send or have those claims sent to you. She had them send to the child's father.

YOU can't do anything. Dad needs to follow his court order, and since Dad isn't here giving us any information about said court order the answer is... We don't know

eta, if Dad never gave Mom the insurance card, then whose fault is that???

but YOU still can't do anything. WE still can't do anything.

right off the bat, dad should have given mom the insurance information. it was stupid to withhold it.

But how can claims be made without an insurance card to provide the doctors?

It isn't that hard. The card itself is not necessary. If Mom knows who the insurance carrier is, then that is all that is necessary.

Are you saying that the claims are paid and you're just ticked that Mom was able to get that information?

I hope and pray it isn't selfishness I see spilling out over your keyboard.

the thing is my husband never told her of the insurance carrier!!!! So how was this even able to happen...I'm not selfish, just curious as to how this even happened.

well. if my dee dee ex of a man didn't tell me who the insurance carrier was, i'd call the HR department of HIS company, ask what carriers are offered to employees, and have the medical office run a check on each one using each of my child's SSN's.

i do know i utilized a clinic once, they told me my child was only covered by a certain carrier they didn't accept. they found out by running his SSN. so, that information is out there. accessible.

If the kids are covered by the insurance what reason do you have for keeping this information from mom?

The child is suppose to be covered by mom's medicaid...my husband never gave her information regarding my insurance...so I was suprise to know how I received 10 claims for my husband's child?
