I had posted a while back about exes best friend being a juvenile probation officer in the family court system, when I filed change of venue my ex found out the same day, from his friend (exes mother slipped up and told me so) he goes through the dockets (hmm isn't that like classified info?) then the friend told ex that HE GUARANTEED that if venue did not change that I would not get custody of our daughter (exes mother again) I know he had to have told his mother because I didn't, I live 40 minutes away! I had to take daughters school bookbag to her yesterday and exes friend was there, guess he works with diliquents at the high school. he said he would get my daughter from the lunch room, when I was leaving my daughter walked me to the door and said that jd (exes friend) officer said, "heard you were gonna try living with you're mom" and she said yes and he said "thats you're first biggest mistake." So I went to the principal and asked her to please have him refrain from speaking on this to my daughter as she is under enough stress with everything going on right now. Found out he's been commenting (daughter told principal) ever since I started custody preceedings! Can I speak to the family courts on this? Shouldn't this definitely warrant a change of venue? He has been telling ex my business every step of the way. It has been a month since we applied for change of venue citing prejudice because of exes friend and ex also has 2 nieces that work in the family courts. I also had to pay 150$ for change which they refund if I'm denied. I feel I won't stand a chance with custody change with all of this going on and it's a small clicky town. Can't I do something? please advice asap.

No. Here, they're available online, and posted on a bulletin board at the courthouse outside each courtroom.

Really I didn't realize that. But what about him making comments to my daughter at school? And he also told my ex about my daughter going to counselors and filing with cps and municple court on domestic (ex choking daughter). And doesn't the fact that he and the 2 nieces work in the family court, have offices in the same courthouse as the family court judge warrant a change of venue, they could say things to the judge that could cause favortisim toward my ex, it shouldn't but it could right? Also one of the family court judges used to be my exes attorney for our divorce! I had to go before her on cs issues before, and my attorney said they should have asked me if that was ok with me but they didn't. Small clicky town, thats why I moved. It just doesn't seem right to me, don't the people that work in the family court system have some code of ethics or something, privacy act etc. they have to abide by?

The X's friend was waaaaaaaay out of line speaking to a child that is not theirs at school, regarding custody proceedings. Friend should follow up on that ASAP.

Your only option is to call your attorney and ask him to file for a change of venue for these reasons.

Sorry, you've been doing this way longer than I have, I thought the thread I started in the beginnining included this. Some of us get all up in arms because we have things happen and come to the forums for acvice without thinking we are starting a "gazillion new threads" I'll try to watch it!

I see, I guess i'll have to pay better attention. You are full of knowledge on this stuff are you in some sort of law? I'm so thankful for these forums I can get answers from alot of different posts and save money by not having to run to an attorney for each question I may have, Thanks

I just came from my daughters soccer game, my ex and his wife were there together then after the game sm was waiting for me and we got into a big argument about my daughter and sm said that I was a big liar and that i'm making up lies about things, I of course did yell back at her in defense of myself, we were nose to nose my daughter already went to the car with her sniveling father i'm sure sm sent him there since she wears the pants, I then walked away and she said Oh you just gonna walk away and I kept walking when I got to the car she was standing right behind me, and I told her to back up off of me and I told her that she and my ex had better keep there hands off my daughter just because they are mad at me. she kept getting closer so I said very loudly to the people in the parking lot that I had asked her to back away from me but she was still standing there and they were my witnesses that she was provoking me. She finally left but she turnrd around and said "you really did it this time" and "you are gonna be sorry" will my ex be able to keep me from seeing my daughter because of this? She pursued me I tried to walk away and she followed then threatened me. What could I or should I do? Can I file harrassment against her? And I know they probably screamed at my daughter all the way home until she went to bed. I will call the school tomorrow and make sure she is ok. Should I explain to the school what happened?

Why?

Don't defend yourself - walk away. Be the bigger person for your daughter's sake. Just because your daughter was in the car doesn't mean she wasn't completely embarassed by her mother and step mom fighting in front of all these people she knows at HER extracurricular function.
