The ex-husband of the woman I'm seeing is causing problems in our
relationship in regards to their son.
He had us followed by a private detective, with no cause to do so,
falsely claiming I'm cheating on her with 2 other women. She and I are
not,
nor have we ever been involved or given reason to suspect that we've been
involved, in suspicious or unsavory activities, such as drugs, alchoholism,
and
the sort. He is also using the child as a pawn, feeding him false
information
about her, and jumping the gun on telling him the true nature of our
relationship.
The boy is 6. After 9 months of dating, I have finally met her son;
the timing was due to her being careful not to have boyfriends in and out
of his life,
and also the "ex" factor. He is also verbally abusing her. She does not
have the
money for a lawyer. Is there anything she can do to halt his activities.
We're afraid
that the child will feel guilty for having fun or taking a liking to me, in
fear that
his father will challenge his loyalty to him.

If her ex husband had been harrassing her or stalking her in this form, she should at least file the restraining order agianst him, otherwise known as order of protection. also, have her to look for a legal aid in her home area.the legal aid is a group of Lawyers who would represent a client with low income having that legal aid is free if she qualified to have that type of lawyer.

My response:

Unfortunately, Legal Aid offices are overbooked and understaffed. The waiting period can be months, and months - - and that's IF they take your case in the first place.

Good luck.
