What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

Is it legal under any circumstances for an employer of a retail business to force an employee to provide them a photo (taken in the privacy of their home) of their spouse (whom has no history of physical abuse towards anyone) for their own security purposes (however misquided). Or else the employee may face termination?

Thank you

It is my wife's boss. About a year ago she admitted some infidelity with an assistant manager, despite them having employee laws restricting such behavior at work. I inquired with the actual store manager, and thus, he felt that I was a threat. Despite never raising my hand to my wife or children in almost 20 years of marriage he made her provide a photo of myself. The photo was taken in our home, and sent to the employer without my knowledge or consent.

Thank you for your reply.

Your wife is allowed to take pictures (such as photos taken in HER HOME and present in HER HOME) into work and give them to her employer without your knowledge and/or consent. You didn't need to be asked. And that is a DIFFERENT situation than what you inquired -- your question should have been whether or not it was LEGAL for your wife to take a picture of you into her place of employment and provide it to her employer. That answer would also be yes.

How do you know her employer threatened to terminate her?
