harrisburg, pa. i own my home and a small business. i have lived in my home for 4 years. i do not use the waste company due to owning a dumpster at my business. i recently recieved a bill in the amt. of 500 dollars with a date to be in court from the waste company. the letter stated due to city contract i am bound to pay them whether i use them or not. the trash company had recently changed and i was not made aware by the city or the waste company about the contract. is this legal? does this violate any right?
----So you take all the garbage and anything that can be recycled from your home and put it in the dumpster at your business? I can see there being a problem with that, just as there would be if you took the garbage from your business and deposited it in a container at your house.
** why would that be a problem...i pay for the dumpster..i can use it as i wish.. FYI i do recycle, always did. i have a gps that can help me find anything along with recycling plants, lol. the issue isnt where i throw my trash im asking is it lawful to be held to the cities contract. i owned my house before it was entered. and had no prior knowledge until receiving the notice. is a city allowed to enter its reidents into such contract? you obviously do not have any legal background you missed the point.
