What is the name of your state? MI

Does anyone know... Has anyone put together a list of often overlooked expenses one can use when filing Chapter 7? And possibly what one can list for the "normal" allowable amounts. For instance, I am a single male and don't have a clue what I spend on food per month. Is there an allowable amount which doesn't raise eyebrows? I have searched the internet but come up empty.

As always - thank you!

There's an excellent list of expenses that can be input as a daily or yearly amount and the worksheet converts it to a monthly equivalent for filing purposes.

Go to http://www.ca-bankruptcy-attorneys.com/calculators/expense_calculator.html

Once you have your list of expenses, write them down and go to the following site:

http://www.conjur.com/misc/7vs13LatestRev2.xls

Input your monthly expenses into that worksheet along with your total debt and net household income. There you'll be able to check your status regarding your likelyhood of Ch 7 or Ch 13.

Thank you, Elmo-1.

Excellent sites.

For others that may be lurking: The spreadsheet is in Excel format I believe (xls) but may be imported into MS Works or most any other spreadsheet program.

Thanks again, Elmo-1. Much appreciated!
