I waited to respond until I got the weekly newspaper. It says that on October 15 bio dad got charged with "possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, attaching tag not assigned". He got caught within 150 feet from a church and school. He also has a $25,000.00 cash bond. I called the judge yesterday but he was in court. His secretary told me to call back today to see if he was in. I don't know if he was bonded out yet or not. This is his weekend to get my son. If I can't talk to the judge today and get something done, do I still have to let my son go with his dad?

When did/is your lawyer filing for the emergency hearing?

All the order says now is "Respondent shall have reasonable visitation".

If that's what it says, then it's NOT 'his weekend'. His visitation is whenever YOU consider it to be reasonable. Obviously, this weekend wouldn't be reasonable.

Oh yes, is it ever ESCALATING with an ADHD kid to use corporal punishment! They need calm , even keel, and removal of privilages is FAR more effective.

The probelm with physical punishment with an ADHD kid is that, as they are so very impulsive, you need to reinforce that reacting PHYSICALLY to negative cues is WRONG and unacceptable. If you paddle, you are giving the opposite lesson. They need calm response, to be removed from the negative stimuli. it HELPS to talk out or write out, as they get older, WHY they acted wrong, and what the correct alternate responses may be.

Adhd KIDS ARE OFTEN SOCIALLY AWKWARD, AND not ALWAYS "INTUITIVE" REGARDING SOCIAL INTERACTIONS.
