Well, we were able to get in to consult with a lawyer today. Turns out because of a "technicality" our lein rights are null. We can try to sue and most likely win, he'll contest, cost us thousands in civil court and we'll end up with nothing. How on earth is this considered justice?

What do you mean "he'll contest"?
Are you really so brain-dead as to not understand what the writer said???

contest, noun
: a challenge brought through formal or legal procedures

Let me translate the writers post for you:
"Turns out because of a "technicality" our lein rights are null. We can try to sue and most likely win, he'll contest, cost us thousands in civil court and we'll end up with nothing."

The writer is saying that they can sue, but the other party will likely have a strong defense against the claim..... and they (the writer) will likely lose the suit.... spending several thousand dollars in the process, ending up with 'nothing'.
Understand??? :D

Sorry. I meant to say we would most likely win in small claims court but he would "appeal" and it would then go to civil court....blah blah blah. I don't really think he has a strong defense though.

Man! Tough crowd.
