What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MD

I just spoke with an atty who lives on my street. I filed for CS the end of April.

My ex was served last week, so she has 30 days to answer the summons. This atty told me she has to come to a hearing. She can't file an answer saying she is in a rehab program for a year and half. I believe she can use rehab as her excuse not to attend a hearing.

Am I right?

I think if you're entitled to CS , it will be granted with or without her attendance .

The court isn't going to wait a yr. and a half to make an order .

Its not an inpatient rehab, therefore no, she can't use that excuse.
